Speed and Distance Featured this Weekend

There were great competitions over the weekend at large and competitive invitational meets. 

Morolake Akinosun Texas - She won the Texas Relays 100m for the third consecutive year in a collegiate leading 11.07. She was also on the #2 collegiate 4x400m relay (3:26.54), the 4x200 (1:32.60), and 4x100m relay. 

Ahmed Ali Alabama - Ahmed grabbed the collegiate 200m lead with a 20.16 at the Florida Relays.

Taliyah Brooks Arkansas - Brooks (5991) led two other Razorbacks, Payton Stumbaugh (5985) and Alex Gochenour (5833) to a 1-2-3 finish at the Texas Relays and took over the top three spots on the national list.

Tevin Hester Clemson - Tevin won the prestigious Texas Relays in the 100m (9.99w) for his first time under 10, albeit wind-aided.

Devin King SE Louisiana - Devin won the always tough Texas Relays pole vault with a personal record 18-8 1/4 (5.70m).

Ioannis Kyriazis Texas A&M - Ioannis threw a collegiate leading 268-7 to win the Texas Relays.

Ian Lamere Wisconsin-Platteville - Won heat two of the 10,000m at the Stanford Invitational in a all-division leading 28:38.63 and NCAA D3 record . The junior won the NCAA D3 championships (23:35.4 for 8000m) by almost 40 seconds and he is the defending NCAA D3 outdoor 10,000m champion.

Shayla Sanders Florida - At the Florida relays she defeated top competition in the 100m (11.15) and ran the second leg on the collegiate leading 4x100m relay (42.85).

Dominique Scott Arkansas - Scott beat professionals at the Stanford Invitational and won the fast race in a collegiate leading 15:25.10.

Zak Seddon Florida State - He was second in a fast race against other top collegians and pros. He ran 8:33.09 to take the collegiate lead. 

Courtney Smith Harvard - Courtney took advantage of a fast race at the Stanford Invitationals to run 32:08.39 just ahead of Chelsea Blaase (32:08.39) as the first 15 took over the top 15 on the collegiate list so far this season.

Henry Wynne Virginia - Henry won a very fast 1500m at the Florida Relays. He won in 3:38.35, just ahead of the 3:38.82 of Craig Engels. He also ran on the 4x800m relay that posted a time of 7:25.92, for third.
