Amankwah posted a new personal best of 1 minute, 45.91 seconds in the men's 800 meters to win the prestigious event ahead of excellent competition while setting a meet record with the No. 3 performance in all-time Alabama history. Burchell was the top collegian and second finisher overall in a world-class field in the women's 100, opening her 2015 outdoor season in impressive fashion with a wind-legal time of 11.04 seconds into a headwind of 2.5 meters per second. That performance ranks second on the all-time Crimson Tide list behind only her 11.03 performance in 2014. "Today was an outstanding day for the Alabama track & field program - a red-letter day in our history," said Alabama head coach Dan Waters. "This is a big-time meet with world-class competition and to have event winners and PRs to the extent that we did today makes a statement about our program. This shows we are in perfect position for us at this point of the season. Our top athletes came out and produced top performances on a big stage. I'm very pleased for them and proud of them."
